AYLA

SENIOR STYLIST

Growing up I lived next-door to a hairdresser and I just thought that she was the most beautiful person. She taught me how to braid hair and would often do mine before school. I always thought she was the most glamorous person ever! I'll never forget her beautiful copper hair. I wanted to be just like her.

I have been in the hair & beauty industry since 2010 and have worked up and down the East Coast of Australia from Canberra to the Gold Coast. Now moving to the West Coast in Mandurah with A&E Studio. In 2015 after being a hairdresser for 5 years and having my oldest son, I decided to do my Diploma in Specialist Makeup as I always felt hair and makeup goes hand in hand. I love being able to make guests feel their absolute best and thought it would be a good fit.

I have done a lot of cutting courses over the years including Sam Overton and Pivot Point in Sydney. I have also completed extensive levels of blonde specific training with blonde specialists in Sydney and Canberra.

My platinum card foils, baby lights/teasy lights and my understanding of the colour wheel certainly define my work. I also excel at being able to create excellent toners for each individual.

If it's not hard to tell, full blonde transformations is certainly my absolute favourite service to do. I feel it's my strongest area and being able to create something that makes each guest look and feel their best is very rewarding.

I think that what makes me stand out from other artists is my pure passion and deep understanding for blondes. In my opinion, not every blonde wants or needs the same thing so being able to analyse and perfect a formula that's different for every guest, such as lived in blondes, platinum or barbie/beachy blondes, is really important.

I would describe my personality as introverted, but I warm up quickly. I feel as though I can really come out of my shell in the salon environment as its where I am most comfortable.

I would say that my approach with guests is very observant. I will adapt and work with whatever they're wanting. If the guest is not wanting to chat I can certainly understand that. However, if the guest is wanting to talk about anything from the latest Tik Tok trends to the more serious and meaningful things in life,  I'm happy to do that too. I think sometimes as a hairdresser you need to be reserved and allow the silence but sometimes you also need to be a best friend or counsellor.

When I'm not at work my time is spent with my 3 beautiful and full on kids or having a margarita out the back with my partner πŸ–€
